About this model

The CKX53SF is an inverted microscope for routine observation of cell cultures and other samples in flasks and dishes. The inverted configuration allows viewing through the base of culture vessels, and the optics deliver clear contrast for monitoring cell morphology, confluence and growth during everyday laboratory work.

This unit

Olympus CKX53 inverted cell culture microscope configured for phase contrast and fluorescence, with a CoolLED pE-300 white LED fluorescence illuminator and an Olympus DP23 camera. Objectives: Olympus LUCPlanFLN 20x/0.45 Ph1, PlanApo N 2x/0.08, UPlanFL N 10x/0.30 Ph1, UPlanFL N 4x/0.13 PhL. Stated to be in good working order; camera and software were tested, with Olympus cellSens Entry 4.2.1 installed on the supplied laptop. Known issues: the 4x objective is stuck in the nosepiece and could not be removed, and no slide holder is included for the stage. Last service 21 October 2021.
